Panalpina opens location in Murmansk

Shtokman gas field encourages Panalpina to open new office in Murmansk

Panalpina Group expands their presence in the Russian Federation by adding a new location. An office will be opened these days in Murmansk, on the Cola Peninsula located close to the country’s borders with Norway and Finland. The new site will concentrate on provision of services to the leading international and Russian customers from the oil & gas industry; that means seismic companies, drilling contractors, supply and support vessel operators, oilfield service and supply companies, engineering companies and off-shore construction companies.

The driving force for the expansion of the Panalpina Group in Russia is the development of the Shtokman gas field. The world’s largest gas field reserves 3.8 trillion cubic meters of natural gas and more than 37 million tons of gas condensate. The shareholders (Russia’s Gazprom – 51 per cent, France’s TOTAL – 25 per cent, Norway’s StatoilHydro – 24 per cent) sanctioned a multi-billion development program. Its implementation lies in the hands of Shtokman Development AG.
