Peel and Macquarie target logistics

Peel Land and Property Group and Macquarie Capital have launched Peel Logistics, targeting development of logistics facilities.

Port Salford’s 280,000 sq ft development occupied by Culina Logistics will be the partnership’s first property. In addition, it has submitted plans for a 175,000 sq ft speculative development at Liverpool International Business Park.

The partnership will initially focus on the existing c.250 acres of consented developable land. Peel expects this to deliver in the short term approximately five million square feet of logistics capacity across multiple sites, including Liverpool International Business Park, Port Salford, Robin Hood Airport, and Knowsley.

Steven Underwood, CEO of the Peel Group, said: “The Peel Logistics platform aims to leverage not only our extensive land bank but also the Peel Group’s wider links to the supply chain and logistics via our longstanding and on-going involvement in the port, airport and retail property sectors in the UK”.
