Berry picks Gist
Fruit producer Berry Gardens has chosen Gist to deliver of its produce, including strawberries and raspberries, to Sainsbury’s stores throughout the West Midlands.
According to Gist, sales in UK supermarkets of home-grown berries have increased 130 per cent in the last four years. Gist is expecting high demand during events such as the Wimbledon tennis championships and the Henley Regatta.
The contract continues a 20-year relationship between the two firms.
Duncan Mills, supply chain director for Berry Gardens, said: “Gist’s collaborative approach has enabled us to reduce food miles while maintaining service to our customers.”
