PepsiCo awards 10-year contract to Kuehne + Nagel

PepsiCo has awarded a ten-year contract to Kuehne + Nagel for its Dutch warehousing and distribution activities.

PepsiCo’s decision to outsource its warehousing, freight management and distribution operations in the Netherlands will help the company to achieve three main goals:

  • Improve customer service by responding even quicker to changing market demands
  • Reduce supply chain costs
  • Reduce the environmental impact of its transportation activities

Within the scope of the contract, Kuehne + Nagel provides a supply chain solution tailored to PepsiCo’s specific needs.

PepsiCo has been integrated into Kuehne + Nagel’s Dutch distribution network, reducing mileage travelled to transport produce from the company’s Belgian and Dutch manufacturing sites to the distribution centre in Utrecht and onward to retailers throughout the Netherlands.

During the first year of the agreement, Kuehne + Nagel will also develop a new multi-user FMCG campus in Utrecht, equipped with high-bay storage and automatic layer picking.
