Pfenning Group launches large-scale investment in Heddesheim

Pfenning Group launches a giant investment project. In Heddesheim (Germany) a modern logistics terminal with a rail connection will be constructed on a 200,000 square metres area until 2013. “This infrastructure shall be available for use by customers from different industries for warehousing and freight services“, as the Management announced.

The investment sum for the logistics centre and the attached administrative office amounts to around EUR 100 million. The new company headquarters will create about 1.000 new jobs.

According to the group’s statement Pfenning is a leading provider of logistics services and has more than 40 locations in Germany, Hungary and Romania. The enterprise employs 1,850 persons and generated an annual turnover of around EUR 220 million in 2008. The clients are mainly from the retail, FMCG, automotive and chemicals industries.
