Germany ABX-locations leaves CargoLine network

The Danish logistics group DSV spinned off the recently acquired ABX-locations in Germany from the general cargo alliance CargoLine. “We will integrate the ABX-stations into our operative business and we will concentrate on cooperating with the IDS general cargo cooperative in Germany”, said Frank Niederberger, Branch Manager and Director National Partnerships of DSV Road GmbH.

The locations in Kassel and Magdeburg will leave CargoLine as per March 31. The stations in Lahr and Unterschleißheim will follow as per June 30, 2009. The last one will be Dietzenbach on December 31. DSV currently operates eight locations within the IDS-association.

Since having taken over the ABX Logistics stations in October 2008, DSV Road GmbH in Willich has been operating at 32 transport- and logistics locations. The enterprise is affiliated to DSV A/S, a Danish provider of global transport- and logistics services who operates locations and offices 59 nations. In three business segments – Road, Air & Sea and Solutions – the enterprise employs 25,000 persons who have generated a turnover of around EUR 5.2 billion in the financial year 2008.
