Pierre Timmermans appointed as CEO AWT Group

AWT Group wants to expand its position as a strong transport and logistics service provider in eastern Europe with its new “captain”:

A change in the management is to take place at the AWT Group. With effect from 1 October, former regional CEO of PSA International Europe Pierre Timmermans (50) will become the new CEO of the AWT Group. Mr. Timmermans will take over from Martin Frývaldský, who is returning to the team of the majority shareholder BXR Group, following his one-year mission at the helm of AWT.

Under the management of Pierre Timmermans the AWT Group wants to consolidate and expand its position as a strong and reliable partner for transport and logistics services in the new EU-member states and in eastern Europe. From 2003 to 2010, Pierre Timmermans headed the European division of global port operator PSA International, having previously worked in the top management of the European forwarding and logistics company Frans Maas.

The AWT Group offers comprehensive transport & logistics services on an international scale. AWT is directly represented in nine countries and has a wide network of other partners and business representatives across Europe, the Middle East as well as overseas. The Group employs almost 2,500 staff, and its annual revenues reach CZK 10 billion or EUR 385 million.
