Polzug: Daily container shuttle from Hamburg

Polzug Intermodal offers daily departing container shuttle train from Hamburg to Poland

Thanks to optimising its production Polzug Intermodal is able to offer daily departures of its container shuttle trains from Hamburg to Poland. The HHLA subsidiary links Germany’s biggest port to its new hub terminal in Poland’s economic metropolis Poznan, where the goods will be forwarded throughout Poland. The enterprise sees an advantage in the central location on the west-east traffic corridor, as well as in high local cargo volumes.

“We are reliable, sustainable and absolutely able to compete with truck transport in terms of price“, empahsises Peter Plewa, the new Managing Director of Polzug, in a press release. Transit on this route takes 12 hours. The enterprise operates a dense network of terminals with stations in Katowice (Dabrowa Gornicza), Wroclaw and Warsaw (Pruszkow) as well as a partner terminal in Lodz.

Polzug Intermodal GmbH, a joint enterprise of HHLA Intermodal GmbH and PKP Cargo S.A., is a rail operator of container trains between the north European container ports Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Rotterdam and the port hinterland in Poland and Eastern Europe.
