Manging Director Robert Breuhahn celebrates jubilee with Kombiverkehr

35 years for Kombiverkehr: Breuhahn was a pioneer for economically effective combined road/rail-transport

Robert Breuhahn, Managing Director Kombiverkehr KG Frankfurt, has a reason to celebrate. On 1 March 2012 he has been working 35 years for one and the same company, which is indeed becoming rare. During his period as Managing Director, he achieved an increase in sales of Kombiverkehr AG from 447 million D-marks to EUR 384 million and to increase the number of transported trucks shipments from 760,000 to around one million.

"Robert Breuhahn is an example of how with technical ability, great dedication and personal integrity careers are still possible virtually from trainee to chief," says Gudrun Winner-Athens, Chairman of the Board of Kombiverkehr. "Without Robert Breuhahn combined transport in Europe would not be as powerful as it is today", adds Winner-Athens.

Milestones in the company and personal career of Breuhahn were the expansion of national and international intermodal transportation end of the 70s and 80s. In the early 90s Breuhahn played a decisive role in the development and implementation of the first shuttle train concepts to and from Italy. These are still the core axis of Kombiverkehr.

Born in 1952 in Arnsberg, Westphalia, Breuhahn is a trained forwarding agent and studied traffic management from 1974 to 1976 at the German Academy of Foreign Trade and Transport (DAV) in Bremen. On 1 March 1977, he started working as a commercial employee for Kombiverkehr. In 1993 he was appointed Managing Director of the company. In this role he is responsible for sales, marketing, production, corporate communications, law and insurance.
