DB Schenker: Large-scale investment in Vienna
Vienna will an important hub within the Schenker & Co AG network in the future as well. Therefore a new building will be added to the logistics terminal at the location in Albern. With a total investment of EUR 13 million a modern cargo handling hall with 4,100 square metres warehouse space will be built. Renate Brauner (vice-majoress of Vienna), Rudi Schicker (City Councillor for Urban Development and Transport), Elmar Wieland (CEO Schenker & CO AG Austria and Southeastern Europe) and Alexander Schaffer (Manager Schenker & CO AG Vienna-Albern branch) will officially commence the building project on Feburary 12. Schenker will use the new building as a basis to boost business activity at the Viennese branch. The main focus will lie in road transport services and in airfreight forwarding.
