Prangl expands service portfolio

Prangl Group establishes new division for heavy load movements

Only recently the Prangl Group added a division for heavy load movements to its service portfolio. The specialists of the division that is controlled by the location in Gratkorn, Styria, carry out lifting works and movements of heavy loads at narrow locations. The service stood the first crucial test when a 77tons-barrel and a 90-tons feed water box were positioned on an area of voestalpine Stahl in Linz. “We invested more than EUR 2.5 million into special equipment for the new department, which can lift maximum weights of 1,100 tons”, as Christian Prangl, Managing Director, said in an interview with the Österreichische Verkehrszeitung (Austrian Transport Magazine). The newly acquired equipment consists of universally useable lift frames, heavylift systems and modular shunting systems.

Based in Brunn am Gebirge near Vienna, Prangl Group specialises in renting mobile cranes and working platforms and in special transport. The enterprise owns 320 cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 600 tons and around 2,000 working platforms. The special transport department has about 200 vehicles that are able to convey goods with a length of up to 60 metres and a maximum weight of 560 tons.
With 610 employees at six locations in Austria and at subsidiaries in Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia the group generated a turnover of nearly EUR 100 million in 2008.
