Q Logistics returns to the bosom of ÖBB Holding AG

Q Logistics GmbH will once again become a wholly owned subsidiary of ÖBB Holding GmbH. Quehenberger Logistics withdraws from the circle of shareholders of the specialist for general cargo (national/international) and warehousing and continues the cooperation with Q Logistics in the operative area in a new form.

Effective January 1, 2019, a new cooperation agreement was concluded between Quehenberger Logistics and Q Logistics, which determines the details of the new collaboration. The unbundling under corporate law and the new form of cooperation will enable both partners to concentrate on their core competencies, according to a letter to the business partners made available to the Österreichische Verkehrszeitung.

Quehenberger Logistics prospectively will be specializing in Austria on customer-specific solutions in the retail, fashion, FMCG, DIY and end customer supply Home Solutions segments. With high-performance, industry-specific transport networks and its own locations in Bergheim near Salzburg, Enns, Vienna, Graz and Fürnitz as well as reliable partners at other important transport hubs, the company offers stable and nationwide solutions throughout Austria as well as in Central and Eastern Europe.

In addition to industry-specific transport networks, Quehenberger in Austria, with 720 employees at 20 locations, offers the full range of logistics for part and full load transport including a national fleet of vehicles, contract logistics solutions and air and sea freight solutions, and generates sales of EUR 260 million in Austria.

The cooperation with the general cargo specialist Q Logistics, with its dense and high-performance general cargo network in Austria, remains an important component in the development of integrated customer solutions. But: After the takeover of 65 employees at the locations Vienna, Graz, Enns and Bergheim from Q Logistics into the retail network, Quehenberger Logistics is again operating its own personnel at the relevant transport network locations in Austria.

According to their own declaration, Q Logistics is the leading Austrian logistics service provider for general cargo and warehousing with 20 locations, 275,000 m² storage and handling areas and around 1,100 employees. The Vienna-based company transports three million national and 700,000 international shipments each year.
