Quehenberger grows with Transalkim in Germany and Eastern Europe

Takeover of Transalkim Internationale Spedition strenghtens operational basis of Quehenberger Logistcs in Germany and consolidates its industry expertise

As agreed last week, Quehenberger Logistics acquires Transalkim Internationale Speditions GmbH, based in Schwieberdingen near Stuttgart, what creates many new opportunities. Christian Fürstaller, CEO and joint owner of the Austrian enterprise, sees “opportunities for growth at each of the new locations as a result of integrating Transalkim Internationale Speditions GmbH into the Quehenberger Logistics network.” They were represented in 17 countries and providing a broad range of logistics services. This will open up new possibilities for Transalkim’s customers, he states.

A total of 40% of the entire business of Quehenberger Logistics is connected with Germany. For the first time, the company will have a direct presence in important industry and logistics centres. Stuttgart, North-Rhine Westphalia and Hamburg could be served even better in the future. Locations in Germany, Hungary, Romania and the Netherlands ideally strengthen the contract logistics and industry sector expertise in fashion, FMCG and electronics.

„The broad conformance in markets, industry sectors and services, but equally through a reasonable amount of confidence, has resulted in a win-win situation for both organisations. Quehenberger Logistics has been significantly strengthened, and the employees and customers of the former Transalkim will be ensured complete continuity,“ said Fürstaller.

Quehenberger Logistics acquired Transalkim Internationale Speditions GmbH on 1 May, thereby significantly expanding its operations base in Germany. The insolvent company, including all its locations except for Hallbergmoos, as well as approximately 350 employees, will be incorporated into the Quehenberger organisation.
