Raben Group orders another 300 PSV3 terminals

From spring PSV3 data terminals of TIS GmbH will manage the German general cargo business Raben Group took over from Wincanton

TIS GmbH (Bocholt), specialising in mobile telematics solutions, delivers 300 more PSV3 data terminals (MDT) to the Raben Group. The new devices will control the general cargo business taken over from Wincanton in June 2011. The telematics solution ensures the seamless order management, sent status messages and provides current position data. Raben has been working with the PSV3 TIS telematics solution since 2010.

The German groupage network purchased from Wincanton consists of 16 subsidiaries, with a total of 300 vehicles in use. These will be equipped with TIS mobile data terminals within ten weeks with no installation effort. The devices digitise the entire flow of information from job submission to departure control, pallet papers, photographic documentation of damage to the proof of delivery.

According to TIS GmbH, the PSV3 accelerates and optimises the data exchange between the headquarters and trucks. With its integrated mobile GPRS technology, the mobile "PSV3" systems are able to transmit data about the order, position, tachograph and any other archival data to TIS’ central server PSV3. Signatures, delivery notes or photos will be created with the mobile data terminals at the recipient, then indexed without manual intervention and assigned to the associated jobs. In this way, the generated records can be automated and recycled paperless by the connected processing systems – for example for billing or archiving.
