Rail Cargo Austria completes integration of Ökombi

Ökombi GmbH merged into Rail Cargo Austria AG marking a further step towards cost optimisation
 
In order to be able to act as a strong and sustainable partner for customers, the cargo transport division of the Austrian federal railway has completed a further internal optimisation measure. In a press release they announce the integration of Ökombi GmbH into Rail Cargo Austria AG. It was a further step to optimise costs, simplify processes, increase transparency and join tasks, competences and responsibility, it reads. Ökombi, an operator of unaccompanied intermodal transport, is Europe’s biggest provider of rolling road services. The specialist moves up to 300,000 trucks environmentally friendly on the rail throughout Austria each year. The current offer comprises the following rotations: Wörgl-Brenner, Wörgl-Trento, Salzburg-Fernetti (Trieste) and Wels-Maribor.
