Rail Cargo Group and Innofreight are closing ranks

MoU of Rail Cargo Group and Innofreight creates the basis for greater use of innovative wagon concepts in rail cargo transport

The Rail Cargo Group and Innofreight are enhancing their cooperation in the field of innovative wagon concepts. At the trade fair ‘transport logistic 2013’ in Munich they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), thereby setting an important step to enhance their partnership in the future.

“The agreement shall help to substantiate the planned cooperation and tasks of the partners to introduce and use alternative, innovative logistics solutions. The Rail Cargo Group wants to convince the customers of quality performance and modern equipment and gain further shares particularly in the core markets through customised elaboration of logistics solutions, such as adjusting containers to customer requirements“, says Erik Regter CEO Rail Cargo Group.

The joint objective of Rail Cargo Group and Innofreight is to intensify the use of equipment for individual customer and branch requirements, such as the Rocktainer for transport of ores and gravel, and to intensify cooperation in the development of the InnoWaggon, a double-hulled wagon for multi-functional use in the conventional transport of gravel and intermodal transport.

Rail Cargo Group and Innofreight have been cooperating for many years. The use of special containers of the Innofreight system allows the cargo railway company to provide customers with ideal equipment according to the special needs of each industry. Now they are enhancing their cooperation and intensifying the use of the Innofreight system within the Rail Cargo Group. Moreover they plan to intensify the use of the InnoWaggon in the segments of mining products, substitute fuels and palletised goods of the Rail Cargo Group.
