Rail Cargo Wagon-Austria assumes tasks from Industriewaggon

New name, joined forces and enhanced tasks for the wagon management division of the Rail Cargo Austria group
 
Rail Cargo Austria has added another facet to the group’s restructuring. In a press release the cargo transport division of ÖBB announces the establishment of Rail Cargo Wagon-Austria GmbH. This company will join the activities of Industriewaggon GmbH and the RCA division Assetmanagement. “This is another major step in simplifying tasks, competences and responsibilities. The bundled wagon management allows more effective, transnational cooperation within the corporate group with sales and production divisions in 15 countries“, the information reads.
 
Through this merger the Rail Cargo Austria group is taking another step towards optimising its processes. Bundling the resources in one company shall allow a more efficient administration and operation of the about 30,000 wagons of different types. Transnational task control of wagon management – procurement, internal and external hiring, disposition of available wagons and exploitation – shall ensure sustainable optimisation of the wagon fleet. Christian Adamiczek and Edmund Hauswirth will form the management board of Rail Cargo Wagon-Austria GmbH.
