RCA and Transdanubia announce further details of their cooperation

Cooperation of Rail Cargo Group and Transdanubia forwarding based on clearly defined responsibilities in the segments of sales and operations

Transdanubia Speditionsges.m.b.H., a leading truck carrier in Central and Southeast Europe, and Express-Interfracht Internationale Spedition GmbH, a subsidiary of Rail Cargo Austria AG, announced further details of their recently agreement cooperation in the segment of truck and rail freight services earlier this week.

Accordingly, end customers of Transdanubia and Express-Interfracht, will be served by both companies autonomously, as before. However, in line with the existing core competences operative responsibility for truck transport lies with Transdanubia, and for rail transport with Express-Interfracht. Both companies will continue to act independently in the market. This cooperation strengthens the positions of both companies in the highly competitive market for cargo transport in Europe. As the focus clearly lies on their core competences, Transdanubia as well as Express-Interfracht will be able to offer their customers an optimised range of services on the road and rail, reads a press information of ÖBB.

„With this cooperation with one of the best companies of the trucking industry” Rail Cargo Austria puts its own truck business on a new basis. In line with that they concentrate on their core business – cargo transport on the rail. The cooperation with Transdanubia is a milestone in their strategy to cooperate with professional private partners apart from the core business of rail freight services.

Transdanubia Speditionsges.m.b.H. is owned by the Grad family, and has five locations, 220 employees and about 60,000 m² of warehousing area (also temperature controlled). Their strengths are national and European trucking as well as general cargo distribution. Road feeder services as well as the supply chain segments refrigerated, food and automotive logistics are included in the service range.
