RCA expands Management Board – new EXIF managers

Supervisory Board of Rail Cargo Austria sets the course for further renovation of the cargo railway and internationalisation of the Express-Interfracht forwarding company
 
In the meeting on 4 July the Supervisory Board of Rail Cargo Austria AG decided upon the appointment of Georg Kasperkovitz and Arnold Schiefer as members of RCA’s Management Board, based on the call for proposal of 31 March 2012. Arnold Schiefer assumes the RCA mandate in addition to his function as CEO of the Hungarian subsidiary Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt.
 
The previous RCA Financial and Production Manager Andreas Fuchs (47) quits the Board. He is to take over the position of the Chairman of RCA’s forwarding subsidiary Express-Interfracht Internationale Spedition GmbH, effective 15 August 2012. Georg Kasperkovitz (46), is to take over the function of RCA’s Financial and Production Manager. He has a comprehensive skills as an internationally experienced railway logistics and transport expert, which he will introduce into the current turnaround process of the enterprise. Georg Kasperkovitz was lately active as a partner of McKinsey & Company and has 18 years of logistics experience.
 
The current Sales Director Erik Regter (48) will expand intermodal partner business (re-sellers and third party railway operators). End customer business will be managed by the previous CFO of the RCA-subsidiary Rail Cargo Hungaria – Arnold Schiefer (46) – in personal union with the integration of Rail Cargo Austria/Rail Cargo Hungaria’s activities in Austria and Hungary. Arnold Schiefer has been in the top management of the ÖBB group since 2005. The mission of the expanded Management Board is to boost the renovation package adopted by the Supervisory Board and to lead the cargo subsidiary RCA to the next decisive stage of market-securing internationalisation.
 
New managers are in charge of the already announced expansion strategy of Express-Interfracht Internationale Spediton GmbH (EXIF) in Eastern Europe – with the key countries Poland, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria. In Poland (EXIF Polska) Pawel Kielczykovski, lately CFO with Schenker, will be appointed Managing Director. The Turkish EXIF subsidiary will be headed by Ercüment Gücüyener (49), lately in charge of sales and marketing with Kühne + Nagel. In Romania Kühne + Nagel Logistics Manager Cristina Matei (41) will take over the management. In Bulgaria the rail freight logistician Ivo Konstantinov (37) was appointed a member of the EXIF Management.
