CR England awards Alanco a $750,000 contract for StarTrak’s ReeferTrak monitoring service; Paramount Export Company appoints Damco as its reefer logistics service provider; Adelaide Convention Centre appoints Agility as its preferred logistics partner.

Alanco Technologies‘ subsidiary, StarTrak Systems, has been awarded a five-year contract by CR England to expand deployment of ReeferTrak RT6000 monitoring equipment and logistical services for its intermodal fleet of refrigerated trailers and containers.

The value of the monitoring service contract, including initial hardware purchases, is approximately $750,000.

Prior to selecting StarTrak’s solution, CR England performed an extensive evaluation of ReeferTrak in comparison with other monitoring methods. CR England selected StarTrak’s ReeferTrak based on the system’s flexibility and distributed system architecture, which allows each monitoring device to independently determine critical events, remotely report and accept action commands unique to refrigerated intermodal operations, including temperature performance monitoring, fuel management and trailer inventory visibility.

According to Tom Robinson, executive vice president of StarTrak, the ReeferTrak information provided to CR England is enhanced with specific logic functions integrated within CR England’s transportation management systems, allowing information systems personnel from both companies to interact and optimise system utility.
