Damco is appointed official logistics partner for Malaysia Rainforest Challenge; Hellmann carries out carbon-neutral transport for Kreidezeit Naturfarben; Samsung Electronics renews UK distribution contract with NYK Logistics. Damco has been appointed as the official logistics partner for Rainforest Challenge 2010 in Malaysia. Damco will provide the complete range of freight forwarding, transportation, Customs clearance and documentation services from origins around the world to Malaysia for all participants, as well as 22 4×4 vehicles from various countries, including Italy, Philippines, Russia, Singapore and Vietnam. Since December 3rd, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has been carrying out carbon-neutral transport for Kreidezeit Naturfarben. Compensation payments for the carbon-neutrality are made to the non-profit foundation "my climate", an organisation that has established itself as a leading partner for compensation solutions since 2002, through high-quality environmental protection projects. Sehlem, Lower Saxony-based Kreidezeit has consistently produced ecologically friendly, fully declared paints and materials for surface treatment and design for more than twenty years, and company owner Gert Ziesemann says it is important that service providers also act sustainably. Samsung Electronics (UK) has renewed its UK white goods distribution contract with NYK Logistics (UK). The operation covers the distribution of all Samsung white goods, including domestic appliances and home laundry equipment, throughout the UK and Ireland. The two companies have worked together since 2000, and Samsung’s entire UK supply chain is outsourced to NYK. At its peak, this operation simultaneously involves more than 600 containers at sea and more than 200 vehicles en route to NYK sites.
