Reichhart Logistik Austria: Mile stone at Graz sequence centre

Jubilee of the one-millionth exhaust system: Reichhart Logistik Austria supplies Magna Steyr in Graz with automotive kits since 2003

Reichhart Logistik Austria GmbH in Graz has lately delivered its one-millionth exhaust system just-in-sequence to its customer Magna Steyr. The kit was mounted in the destined vehicle on the very same day – about seven hours after the order had arrived in the system. This figure is composed of 605,498 systems for BMW X3 and so far 394,502 exhaust systems for Mini Countryman and Paceman.

The Graz branch of the logistics provider is a 100%-subsidiary of the German Reichhart Logistik group based in Gilching close to Munich. Since its establishment in 2003 the branch has been supplying the Magna Steyr plant with sequence parts. Using four NC welding robots Reichhart manufactures about 500 exhaust systems per day sequentially – thus in the sequence of the arrival of the orders.

Jürgen Maurer, plant manager, is particularly proud about the quality of the delivered parts and logistic processes. “Just one failure of us can stop the belt at Magna“, he explains. “Thus we apply a zero-failure strategy for Reichhart, which we have been implementing successfully for one million parts.“
