Reorganisation of TRW Automotive’s European logistics orders

Tender of the European logistics orders of TRW Automotive will run via the E-sourcing platform Ticontract:

 

TRW Automotive will use an internet based system for the tender of the European logistics orders. Following some single projects in the year 2010 the automotive supplier will place its loads on the E-sourcing platform Ticontract in the future. They expect reduced logistics costs. „Ticontract has exactly the characteristics we require from a partner for strategic freight purchase“, explains Helge Wöbke, Head of Logistics EMEA & AP from TRW Automotive.

As a specialist for the execution of freight tenders and the management of freight data and contracts, Ticontract has expertise in the automotive and automotive supply industry. The circle of customers includes Audi, Bosch, Daimler, Leoni, Goodyear Dunlop and Volkswagen, as well as TRW Automotive, a globally leading automotive supplier. The group headquartered in Livonia in the US-state Michigan has branches in 26 countries and generated a turnover of about USW 14.4 billion with 60,000 employees in 2010. The product range covers among others integrated vehicle control and driving assistance systems, braking systems, steering systems, electronics, fixing systems as well as spare parts systems and customer services.

Ticontract Tendering enables shipping customers to carry out their long term logistics and freight tenders with selected service suppliers and analyse them by themselves. The Rate Management module provides information and management tools for the freight rates including contracts with service suppliers. The Ticontract network covers sales locations in Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Benelux and Poland.
