Rhenus is working on customs procedure in Russia

Rhenus presents new solution for customs clearance at its customs and logistics terminal in Smolensk
 
Together with Russia’s customs authorities the logistics provider Rhenus is working on a faster customs procedure. The simplified customs process shall cut customs clearance at the Rhenus customs and logistics terminal close to Smolensk to a maximum of 24 hours. Initially selected customers from the automotive, industrial plants, medical care, textile industry and project business will be able to benefit from this solution.
 
Rhenus was the first international forwarder to open a customs and logistics terminal at the border of Byelorussia and Russia in the region of Smolensk. Operation at the eight hectares terminal has started this February. The area offers 2,200 m² storage area and 400 truck parkings. The facility allows for expansion of the storage area to 30,000 m². The number of customs staff working at the terminal is currently increased from four to ten, and to 30 persons in the coming months. In Russia the Rhenus group has its own customs broker license allowing them to handle importations and exportations of their customers.
