Rhenus Road Freight withdraws from Groß-Enzersdorf

The engagement of Rhenus Road Freight in Groß-Enzersdorf near Vienna is coming to an end. The enterprise ends its operating activities at the location effective 30 April 2012. The Johann Weiss GmbH, an experienced provider of transport and logistics services, is to continue operating the facility. “The new operator will rent the major part of the location as of 1 May 2012“, Rhenus Logistics discloses on demand of the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung.
 
In its statement the Rhenus group emphasises that they will continue to expand actively in Austria in spite of this measure. Rhenus Office Systems, with different activities, will remain located at the site in Groß-Enzersdorf and will continue to provide services of Rhenus Media for the customers. Moreover they became established in the business segment of air and ocean freight recently. “The holding in the corporate group Mierka in Krems at the Danube positions us well in port-affine, as well as in forwarding business“, the company states.
 
Initially the 10,000 m² logistics facility in Groß-Enzersdorf near Vienna was constructed and operated by the Röhrer Logistics company. Under the auspices of Rhenus Logistics the location with about 40 employees was a hub for contract logistics services and a point of departure for general cargo lines providing regular departures for shipments from Austria and Western Europe to destinations in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
