Roadrunner acquires James Brooks Co for $7.5m

Roadrunner Transportation Systems has acquired all of the outstanding stock of The James Brooks Company for a purchase price of approximately $7.5 million.

James Brooks provides intermodal transportation and related services to the ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach and Oakland, transporting primarily fresh produce.

Roadrunner president & CEO Mark DiBlasi said that the acquisition substantially enhances the scale and critical mass of Roadrunner’s drayage operations in key ports on the West Coast.

James Brooks generated revenues of approximately $12 million in 2010, with operating margins in excess of 10%.
