Robert Bosch GmbH selects LGI as its preferred supplier

Consequent implementation of the “lean in warehousing” approach by LGI Logistics Group is well received by Robert Bosch GmbH

LGI Logistics Group International (LGI) has been selected as a preferred supplier for warehousing operations at Robert Bosch GmbH.

Bosch grants this status to companies who excel with the exceptionally high quality of their services.

Further to its success in providing logistics services for the Power Tools, Thermotechnology, Automotive Electronics, and Security Systems divisions of Robert Bosch, LGI has now also officially been named as one of the Bosch Group’s preferred logistics suppliers.

In recent years, LGI has worked to develop quality standards that go far beyond simply meeting customer expectations. Taking the Bosch “Warehouse Excellence” project as its starting point, LGI created the LGI Operating System (LOS), a program based on lean management principles which aims to achieve continuous improvement in operational processes.

The effective implementation of the “lean in warehousing” approach enables LGI to consistently enhance the quality of its logistics services, identify opportunities to make savings, and put these into practice with the ultimate aim of helping LGI customers such as the Bosch Group to strengthen and secure their competitive edge.

“Cooperation between the two companies has stepped up another gear with the introduction of the lean philosophy,” explains Dorothea Küttner, Division Manager at LGI and in charge of the Bosch key account. “We are delighted that our services have been recognized and regard this as an opportunity to continue to provide top-class logistics services to a high standard of quality,” adds Küttner.

LGI Logistics Group International GmbH designs and provides warehouse logistics, production processes, shipping and transport management (land, air and sea) and customs services for clients in the automotive, electronics, fashion/lifestyle, healthcare/life sciences and industrial sectors. Production logistics, distribution logistics and reverse logistics are major components of the portfolio of logistics services.

Created from Hewlett-Packard Germany in 1995, LGI has been majority-owned by Kajo Neukirchen GmbH and M Cap Finance Mittelstandsfonds GmbH & Co since 2012.

Currently employing a workforce of around 3,000 at more than 45 sites in Europe, the United States and Russia, LGI is a leading company in the field of contract logistics in Europe. The company anticipates sales of more than EUR 400 million for 2014.
