Rostock becomes a major location of Stena Line

Ferry shipping company Stena Line inaugurates its new office in the German Baltic Seaport of Rostock

The ferry shipping company Stena Line recently celebrated the inauguration of its offices in the Rostock ferry port. Numerous guests from economy, politics and media welcomed the Swedisch company in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The new representative office was the result of the takeover of the Scandlines routes by the end of last year. “Germany has increasing importance within the structure of Stena Line. In addition to Kiel and Sassnitz, Rostock will also be a major location“, emphasised Carl-Johan Hagman, CEO Stena Line, on the occasion of the inaugural event.

Since their establishment in 1962 the Swedish shipping company Stena Line has become one of the world’s biggest ferry enterprises. In 2011 their 38 vessels carried more than 15.1 million passengers, 3.2 million cars and 1.6 million freight units on their 22 own routes between the Netherlands and Great Britain, on the Irish Sea as well as on the Baltic Sea between Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland and Germany. Stena Line in Kiel is operated by Stena Line Scandinavia AB, Gothenburg.
