SDA Express Courier becomes strategic partner of Eurodis

Combi-freight network Eurodis to gain SDA Express Courier as a strong partner on Italy’s CEP-market by February 2012:

Eurodis, the European distribution network for the transport of goods in parcel or pallet shipments (combi-freight), has gained a new strategic member in Italy. SDA Express Courier S.p.A. the parcel and express subsidiary of Poste Italiane Group will start cooperating with the other Eurodis members from February 2012. The cooperation contract was signed in October by the Eurodis managing director Carsten Siebe and SDA CEO and General Manager Valter Catoni in Rome.

"The entry of SDA into the Eurodis network is a further, important step in our strategy to create a Europe-wide comprehensive cooperation of strong partners", explains Peter Umundum, board member parcel & logistic of the Austrian Post and chairman of the Eurodis GmbH. Amongst the Austrian Post and its other subsidiaries in south-eastern Europe the Spanish Redur, the German trans-o-flex, the French Sernam and the British UK Mail are members of Eurodis. All members are able to transport shipments ranging from 1-kg parcels to 800-kg pallets (combined freight) without any breaks in the system. Together they cover 34 European countries.

SDA Express Courier was founded in Italy in 1984. Today its team of over 3,100 employees offer express courier services and deferred delivery. The enterprise operates 89 terminals, eleven hubs and mini hubs, two gateways and a fleet of about 3,500 vehicles.
