Significantly less business volume with Air France-KLM Cargo

Air France-KLM Cargoreports slightly improvement in operating results 2013, but remains in the red

The business of Air France-KLM Cargo (Paris/Amsterdam) was dominated by the partially weak development of global trade and overcapacity in the air freight industry in 2013. Hence the turnover dropped by 7.9 per cent to EUR 2.82 billion compared to 2012. Operating results improved by EUR 28 million, but was still clearly negative with losses of EUR 202 million.

As Air France-KLM announced at the balance press conference last week, the freighter capacity was reduced by 11.5 per cent by the removal of freight aircrafts in the reporting period. Due to enlarged offers in the belly segment total offer was only 2.7 per cent below the figure of 2012. The cargo load factor dropped by 1.3 percentage points to 63.2 per cent. Six freighters are currently operated in the colours of Air France-KLM Cargo.
