‘Sped Kampania’ joins AsstrA in Warsaw

AsstrA Group expanded its services portfolio by merging a Polish freight forwarding company

AsstrA merged the Polish ‘Sped Kampania’ in May 2012. In June the Polish ‘Sped Kampania’ forwarders experienced in the rail transportations joined AsstrA in Warsaw and at a border checkpoint Malashevichi (Poland) of the ‘Sped Kampania’ office continued its activities under a new name – AsstrA. Due to the merger, AsstrA received direct Polish railway agreements and control of the entire process of a cargo trans-shipment in Malashevichi, Poland.

Thanks to this transaction AsstrA expanded its capabilities to fulfill rail and combined cargo transportations between EU and the CIS, EU and Asia. New employees’ competence supports AsstrA in such services as a loading-unloading-reloading control, warehousing (re-packaging, labeling), customs services, phytosanitary, veterinary, sanitary-and-epidemiologic control and certification.

Oleg Germanovich, CEO AsstrA Forwarding, commented: ‘Cargo efficiency and cost-effective delivery via Euro-Asian transport routes depends mostly the well-organized procedures at the border of the EU and the CIS, at the junction of the customs and different railroads. We tried to strengthen our position in a key transit corridor ‘Poland-Belarus’, and eventually settled on buying ‘Sped Kampania’. As a result, we obtained an important asset of a professional staff with extensive experience in this area as well as established contacts in this area’.

Dmitry Lagun, the President of AsstrA board of directors, noted: ‘Aiming to enter the top 10 logistics operators in Europe in 2030, we strive to continuously strengthen our position in different types of transport, particularly if the growth of reserves is very noticeable. These are the rail and maritime transport. We intend to actively use mergers and acquisitions to buy the assets of the most promising markets for us’.

AsstrA Associated Traffic AG was founded in 1993 in Zurich, Switzerland and represents an international holding working in the logistic market today.
