Spedition Bode enters market in Finland

New subsidiary of Bode forwarding in Finland puts focus on trailer traffic with Baltic Sea riparian states
 
Spedition Bode GmbH & Co. KG, counting among the leading medium-sized logistics companies in northern Germany, enhances its commitment in the business with riparian states of the Baltic Sea. The instrument therefore is the establishment of a Finish subsidiary SBTL Lahti Oy – Spedition Bode Transport & Logistik. According to senior head Eckhard Bode the newly founded company based in Lahti shall boost optimisation of trailer traffic between the continent and the nordic logistics hub Finland, which is getting increasingly important for the forwarding company. The specialities of Bode include traditionally also comprehensive consumer goods logistic activities in the cool and dry goods segment to Sweden.
 
Based in Reinfeld, Schleswig-Holstein, Spedition Bode GmbH & Co. KG was established in 1949 and evolved from a railway cartage contractor into a provider of logistics services. The company has more than 170 staff at their six locations. As for national and international activities in the segments of transport, warehousing and logistics services, 70 own trailer trucks, around 270 trailers and several cooperation partners are available. Also transportations on the railway and the seaway are benchmarks in the service range. 
 
In the warehousing logistics segment 30,000 m² hall area – including temperature-controlled zones at +2°, +4°; +16/18°and -25° –  and more than 10,000 high rack pallet slots are disposed. In total the enterprise operates about 150,000 m² space and their own workshop.
