Strategic decisions of the Rieck Logistik group show their effects
Significant rise in turnover with the Rieck Logistik group in 2012; Development of the IT system and opening of air freight office close to Düsseldorf
In the last financial year the Rieck Logistik group has made several strategic decisions, which show sustainable positive effects. These include investments at their site in Rostock and the opening of an air freight office close to Düsseldorf. Due to the development of the IT system for logistics of online trade (B2C), Rieck Projekt Kontrakt Logistik was able to expand the services for online retailers. The company will also assume picking and gift packing or returns handling in the future.
The waste logistics division – Rieck Entsorgungs-Logistik (REL) – has added another 15,000 m² to their warehousing area in Neuss last year. Thanks to new contracts with large-scale customers for the supply of the entire plant logistics, REL has acquired a new 8,000 m² plot at the port of Neuss, where a modern 3,000 m² hall will be built.
Group turnover of Rieck Logistik rose about 13 per cent in 2012 compared with the previous year, from about EUR 150 million to about EUR 170 million. With a plus of 60 per cent, the air and ocean freight segment showed the most important growth. Contract logistics increased by 26 per cent.
The Rieck Logistik group is a full service logistician based in Berlin. About 700 employees are working at national and international Rieckbranches: in Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Munich, Neuss, Rostock, Mikulov (Czech Republic), Saint Petersburg (Russia, Fracht-Trans company) as well as 14 locations of the Chinese subsidiary Rieck Henco.
