Strong bio mass business with ZHD Stevedoring

Throughput operation ZHD Stevedoring handles about half of the bio mass transhipment at the Port of Rotterdam in 2011:

ZHD Stevedoring registers a peak performance of bio mass throughput. Commercial Director Leo Lokker expects a total volume of 350,000 tons of wood pellets for 2011. This equals about half of the bio mass volume in the Dutch seaport. For 2012, the manager holds out the prospect of continuous growth in this market segment.

ZHD Stevedoring as established in 1968 and acts today as a specialist of handling bulk, neobulk, steel products and coils. The private company operates terminals with road, rail and waterway connection to the European hinterland in the ports of Rotterdam, Dordrecht and Moerdijk.

The locations offer 15 hectares open area and 80,000 m² of covered storage area. At the start of 2012 a swimming crane that is able to lift 50 tons will be added to the range of crane facilities for cargo throughput.
