Strong fiscal year 2011 for UTi Worldwide
Transport logistics group UTi Worldwide achieved substantial increases in revenue and operating income in the 2011 fiscal year
The UTi Worldwide transport logistics group, based in Long Beach, California, the fiscal year 2011 (year ended 31 January 2011), posted a high-growth business trend. Primarily due to the increased activities in the segments air freight (up 34.7 per cent revenues) and ocean freight (up 33.5 per cent) annual turnover rose 27.3 per cent to USD 4.55 billion compared to 2010. This was accompanied by an improved operating income, which was 47 per cent up to USD 122.7 million, as Eric W. Kirchner, chief executive officer, said last week. UTi Worldwide has 19,500 employees at locations in 63 countries, and agents in 80 more nations.
