Czech Republic: New Emons location in Olomouc improves area-covering services of the forwarding company
The Emons forwarding company has added a new branch to its network in the Czech Republic. The new location in Olomouc in the east part of the country enhances the offer in the segment of area-covering services. A further expansion of the Czech network is in the pipeline. Currently they operate own branches in Plzen, Brno, Chomutov, Sokolov and Ústí nad Labem. They expect future double-digit growth rates.
Until 2005 the Emons forwarding company served the Cuech Republic through strong partners at the location in Nuremberg. They founded the Emons Spedice s.r.o. in Plzen, against the background of a growing demand for area-covering transport and logistics services due to the expansion of the European Union. The target had been to establish an own network. The management sees this status achieved today.
Established in 1928, the medium-sized, group-independent Emons group with headquarters in Cologne comprises more than 70 locations in Germany, Bulgaria, China, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Turkey, Ukraine and Byelorussia. Their more than 1,700 employees and 250 apprentices handled about 3.2 million shipments and 435,000 parcels in 2012, thereby generating turnover of EUR 365 million.
