Kuehne+Nagel wins Russia-contract with Magna

Magna selects KN as partner for inbound logistics to Russia

Kuehne+Nagel has secured a new large-scale order in the automotive sector. Magna Exteriors & Interiors, a globally leading supplier of exterior vehicle appearance systems to the global automotive industry, is outsourcing the entire inbound logistics for its production site in Kaluga (Russia) as well as parts of its outbound transports to Kuehne + Nagel.

On behalf of Magna Exteriors & Interiors, a subsidiary of Magna International, Kuehne+Nagel will coordinate and transport shipments from all European suppliers to a consolidation centre in Chemnitz, Germany. From

there, Kuehne+Nagel will manage the entire just-in-sequence delivery to the Magna production site in Kaluga. In addition to warehouse management and parts consolidation in line with the production process, Kuehne+Nagel’s services also include export handling as well as daily overland transportation from Chemnitz to Kaluga.

“Having worked for Magna already for more than sixteen years, we are very familiar with the customer’s logistics requirements,” Martin Weidemann, Kuehne+Nagel’s Senior Vice President Road & Rail Logistics for eastern Europe, comments about the order. The Russian market is one of Magna Europe’s strategic targets.
