Stute takes over logistics operations from Bremen-based ArcelorMittal-factory

ArcelorMittal Bremen and Stute Verkehrs-GmbH sign logistics partnership agreement:

 

The Bremen-based factory of the ArcelorMittal steel group signed an eight-years service provision agreement with Stute Verkehrs-GmbH. The logistics service supplier was selected in a tender as partner for warehousing, intra-plant logistics as well as packing and loading of coils.

This outsourcing project, which is unique in the steel industry, targets sustainable increase of productivity and flexibility. “Out core competence is steel production and processing, not logistics. We see this step as an investment for the future of our company“, explains Pierre Jacobs, manager logistics and customer service ArcelorMittal Bremen.

ArcelorMittal is the world’s leading steel producer and operates plants in more than 60 countries. The integrated, traditional location in Bremen, covering the full supply chain, the enterprise with 3,500 employees produces raw and galvanised quality steel for the automotive industry among others.

Stute Verkehrs-GmbH employs around 2,000 persons at 53 locations in Germany. Established in 1853, the enterprise based in Bremen is part of the Kuehne + Nagel group and counts among Europe’s market leaders in the segment of customer-oriented transport and logistics services.
