Talke constructs new logistics facility for Slovnaft

EUR 22 million-order: Slovnaft Petrochemicals selects Talke group as its partner to plan and construct a new logistics facility
 
The Talke group based in Hürth near Cologne starts implementing a major project in Europe. The Slovakian petrochemical division of the Slovnaft group, Slovnaft Petrochemicals, s.r.o., charged the company with the planning and construction of a new logistics facility. The order represents a value of about EUR 22 million. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2015.
 
As the general contractor the Alfred Talke company constructs a logistics facility for handling and filling of poly ethylene for Slovnaft Petrochemicals, based in Bratislava. The new building with direct connection to the production plant has an annual capacity of 220,000 tonnes. It comprises a 28 silos facility, a packing and storage hall, offices as well as transport and manoeuvring areas. In addition they will install two bagging lines, two loading facilities for bulk cargo and a product belt from the degasification silos.
 
The start of this project requires careful scheduling, as the process of approval by the authorities in cooperation with local engineering offices will have to be completed within three months. Approval for construction is expected for 2013. Construction shall start then. “The planned logistics facility is the first project we will implement in Slovakia“, Christoph Grunert, Director Logistics Europe Alfred Talke, says gladly. “Representing an order value of EUR 22 million, it counts among our biggest European projects.“ The Talke group has about 1,600 employees and partners at 24 locations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia and counts among the international leading logistics service providers for the chemical and petrochemical industry. The core competences of the enterprise founded in 1947 are transport and storage of chemical products, liquid chemicals and dangerous goods of almost all classifications. In addition Talke offers filling, storage and transport of dry and liquid chemicals and polymer granules. They provide a fleet of more than 2,300 tank/silo vehicles and containers as well as comprehensive special equipment according to individual customer requirements.
