tectraxx manages home-deliveries on behalf of INTERSPAR

GW’s business unit distributes electronic devices for 52 INTERSPAR hyper markets

The logistics service provider tectraxx enters into a new market segment. The Gebrüder Weiss business unit with focus on services for end customers manages the home-delivery of household appliances (washing mashines, refrigerators, TVs, etc.) to INTERSPAR customers in Austria with effect from 14 September.

The tectraxx service is available at all 52 INTERSPAR hyper markets in Austria. The portfolio includes home-delivery (delivery service including previous making of individual appointments with customers), set-up of the devices including collection and disposal of packaging material, correct installation, connection of electronic devices as well as take-back and disposal of old devices. The geographical range delivers throughout Austria and to neighbouring EU-countries to a maximum distance of 50 kilometres.

“We have been cooperating with reputable mail-order houses. We are glad that INTERSPAR gives us the opportunity to offer the first extensive customer service to a food enterprise. This is an important step for all parties concerned, which means a completely new service quality for INTERSPAR customers“, explains Wolfgang Leuthner, Location Manager of tectraxx. Also Karoline Klinger, in charge of Non-Food-II-campaign management for INTERSPAR, is open-minded to the new partnership: “We are very glad about this cooperation“, she comments.

The tectraxx business unit represents the high-tech logistics segment of Gebrüder Weiss. The product segment generated an operating result of EUR 12 million in the fiscal year 2008. A total of 134 employees and technicians are working at locations in Wiener Neudorf, Vienna-Strebersdorf, Graz, Klagenfurt, Innsbruck, Pasching and Linz.
