First turn of the sod for TLC Temmel’s new logistics centre in Ilz, Styria

The Graz-based logistics specialist TLC Temmel has recently started tackling a new major project. The Unger Steel Group will construct a 15,000m² logistics centre for TLC in Ilz, Styria. A 12,438m² logistics hall shall be finished by the end of December 2011; a multi-storey administrative building is scheduled to be finished by January 2012. As for the supply of the location in Ilz, among other things, a supply tunnel will be dug between the LCI, short for Logistik Center Ilz, and the neighbouring assembly hall of the automotive supplier Magna Powertrain (MPT), to be able to carry out the supply processes smoothly and effectively. The investment totals EUR 9 million.

After the construction period of ambitious four months-project is finished at the start of 1012, TLC will among other things take over goods receipt logistics, warehousing and empties dispatch on behalf of Magna Powertrain for the three Styrian MPT-locations Ilz, Albersdorf and Lannach. From mid-2012 the LCI shall start fully operating and have a daily truck connection. From this date up to 100 employees will be working there in a 3-shift operation.
