 Lower Austria’s industry about to tackle optimisation of logistics processes

Logistics as the driver of the success of Lower Austria as a business location was the main issue of the second Logistics Day of Lower Austria in the Abbey of Göttweig. In this context Wirtschaftslandesrätin Dr. Petra Bohuslav emphasised that the logistics branch, meaning Lower Austria’s function as a hub, has to be used for the region and for the industry in the sense of environmental protection as well as the quality of living.

Green Logistics“ and „sustainable logistics“ are the key issues for the future. An ecological, economical and social improvement of Lower Austria as a location for logistics and business shall be reached through several measures. In the fist line the energy efficiency of all transport modes has to be increased. Moreover optimisation of multimodal logistics chains as well as strengthening trimodalism in Lower Austria play major roles. This development targets imply a better competitiveness of regional enterprises, which also strengthens Lower Austria as a business location.
