Turkish Airlines presents impressive figures for the 2010 fiscal year

 

In the year 2010 Turkish Airlines’s business was running full speed. In the freight segment the transported volume rose 32 per cent year-on-year to 314,000 tons. Passenger volume improved by 16 per cent to 29 million persons. These figures given, the enterprise sees confirmed its growth strategy. Turkish Airlines is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, and by its own account it is the fourth largest network airline in Europe.

Turnover of Turkish Airlines amounted to USD 5.6 billion in 2010, which means a 23 per cent increase on 2009. Around 81 per cent of the turnover of Turkish Airlines was generated on international links, the remaining 19 per cent on routes within Turkey. Operating Profit amounted to USD 307 million in 2010, Net Profit to USD 191 million.

Turkish Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance, has lately increased its long distance fleet. They are currently flying with 157 aircrafts to 171 destinations in 83 countries.
