TX Logistik has tested a direct rail connection to Hungary. On behalf of Volkswagen Logistics the railway logistics company carried vehicle parts and automobiles from Györ to Salzgitter and return. Despite difficult conditions due to floods both trains reached their destination with only a short delay. Hungary is an interesting market for the private railway company – also because the country is becoming into an important location for the automotive industry.

“This test has proved our performance and quality also on this route“, resumes Andreas Werle, division manager TXCargoStar freight, TX Logistik. The almost 1,100 kilometres route between the Audi plant in Györ and the Volkswagen location in Salzgitter passed the Austro-Hungarian border at Hegyeshalom and via Passau, Germany. According to their own account TX Logistik maintained permanent, close contact to the customer and DB Netz, to guarantee quick information flow.

TX Logistik headquartered in Bad Honnef was established in 1999 as a private railway enterprise and has an efficient European network. With about 370 employees the company generated annual turnover of more than EUR 200 million in 2012. Since March 2011 TX Logistik has been a 100 per cent-company of Trenitalia, a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello stato.
