TX Logistik drives to Italy on behalf of Har Vaessen B.V.

Har Vaessen B.V. saves the toll in Germany and Austria with TX Logistik’s new direct rail service from Venlo to Melzo near Milano:

The railway company TX Logistik and the logistics enterprise Har Vaessen B.V. has established a new service between the Netherlands and Italy. They operate a direct rail service from Venlo to Melzo near Milano and back five times per week. In addition to Flowers, fruit and vegetables they transport trading goods.

Har Vaessen B.V. markets this transport service named „Intermodal Shift“, which is a solution to save the toll in Germany and Austria, the performance-related heavy transport toll in Switzerland and the Italian road toll and which is not depending on diesel prices. In Italy trailers and containers are delivered with their own truck. Every train has capacity for 32 containers at a size of 45 ft. TX Logistik deploys only its own multi-system locomotives.

„So far we transported goods on the road to Cologne or Herne, where they were reloaded to the railway. In this new model shipments reach their destinations in Italy faster and with lower costs“, says managing director Har Vaessen. At the end of this year or the start of next year he wants to put another train on the rails between Venlo and Melzo.

“We see the Netherlands as a growth market and we prepare additional links“, explains Patrick Zilles, manager of the business division Intermodal at TX Logistik. The railway company has recently opened a location in Venlo to this end.
