Bremen’s port industry presents itself to Austrian customers and business partners

With a welcome event on 8 September at the “Saturn Tower“ in Vienna the companies acting for the umbrella brand VIA BREMEN thanked their Austrian customers and business partners for their successful cooperation. More than 100 representatives for the circle of forwarders, container operators and shipping agencies followed this invitation.

For Bremen and Bremerhaven Austria is the most important transit relation in the European hinterland. “Last year we handled 1.3 million tons of goods with points of departure and destination in Austria“, Erwin Mittermaier, Manager of the Viennese bremenports office, said in his short speech. Container volume amounted to 130,000 TEU. In 2011 the Viennese office of the Bremen seaports celebrated its 60-years jubilee.
