Vienna Airport: 8.8 per cent cargo increase in May 2014
Substantial growth of cargo business (air cargo and trucking) at Vienna International Airport in the period from January to May 2014
The Vienna airport continues its upwards trend in air freight business.
In May 2014 the cargo volume (air cargo and trucking) rose by 8.8 per cent from the prior-year level to 22,286 tonnes. Total air cargo (air cargo and trucking) amounted to 109,725 tonnes in the period from January to May 2014, and was up 7.7 per cent from the previous year.
The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport in May 2014 rose by 4 per cent from the prior-year level to 2,048,044. The maximum take-off weight climbed by 3.4 per cent from the previous year. The number of light movements was up 0.7 per cent to 20,886 take offs and landings.
