Wallmann & Co. in Hamburg appoints new management team
Hubertus Ritzke was appointed managing director with the right of sole representation at the universal terminal of Wallmann & Co in Hamburg
Wallmann & Co. (GmbH & Co. KG), Hamburg-based transhipment and storage company, has appointed Hubertus Ritzke managing director with the right of sole representation as of 1 October 2014. The previous longstanding managing director of the Port of Hamburg business association has been working for Wallmann since last February.
Hubertus Ritzke, who has very good knowledge of the industry and branch, will in future run the business, initially still supported by the managing partner Hans-Dieter Wilde. „In agreement with my partners, I will successively retire as associate from the active business. But in some tasks I will still relieve Hubertus Ritzke,“ said the latter.
Also on October 1, 2014 Gerd Schüler was appointed sole signatory of Wallmann & Co.. He already started his training as a shipping clerk at Wallmann in 1970, and took over the commercial management in 1999. With the appointment the company rewards the good and long term cooperation with Gerd Schüler and the general recognition among customers and employees.
„With these two experienced port professionals heading a highly qualified team, Wallmann & Co sees itself on a sound way to the future. However, we are aware that we also need to prepare a change of generation in the coming years. This can be addressed together calmly and with prudence,” says Hans-Dieter Wilde.
For more than 90 years the universal terminal of Wallmann & Co. has been offering the entire range of modern logistics solutions for goods transhipment and storage from a single source. The about 80 employees of Wallmann & Co. provide services including vessel handling, transhipment of project cargo, storage or seaworthy packaging, as well as value added services for the goods, such as packaging, picking, labelling and others.
