WLC wins ÖBB Rail Ad in the category „real train“

Commitment to sustainability and environmental protection earns Wiener Lokalbahnen Cargo (WLC)  the ÖBB_Rail Ad for the best advertising design

WLC’s locomotive branding „Rail power zero“ has prevailed at this year’s ÖBB Rail Ad competition: On October 9, 2014, the Managing Directors Gerald Retscher and Christian Hann took over the advertising prize at a gala event in the new Vienna Central Station.

114 submissions in nine categories were presented to the voting audience this year. In addition to a travelling beer crate, aquarium shelters and a digital tie binding bet, the dynamic design of the „Rail power zero“ locomotive of the WLC convinced the audience. Thanks to numerous online votes (a total of over 30,000 were issued) and top ratings from an expert jury the Wiener Lokalbahnen Cargo as a client of the Manuel Böhm agency won the prize for the best advertising design in the „real train“-category

The WLC design as well as the winners of the other categories were awarded at a ceremony. Besides the Rail Ad trophy the winners also received airtime on surfaces of the ÖBB, each worth EUR 10,000. The WLC Managing Directors Gerald Retscher and Christian Hann took over the award, from Christian Kern, Executive Director of ÖBB, Kristin Hanusch-Linser and Manfred Oschounig (management of ÖBB Werbung GmbH).

The winning locomotive foliation is based on a cooperation for CO2-free train power – a clear commitment of Wiener Lokalbahnen Cargo to sustainability and environmental protection, which could be moved once more into the spotlight through this award.
