Würfel Spedition tests telematic solution by Vehco
Telematic service provider Vehco equips 25 swap bodies of Würfel forwarding with its fleet management system VehcoMobile
Specialising in jumbo swap body transportations the Würfel forwarding company has been testing VehcoMobile’s fleet management system for one year since August. This test is part of a competition, the Swedish provider of telematic services Vehco has launched in April. In the coming weeks Vehco will equip 25 swap bodies of the transport company with on-board computers.
Würfel has been dealing intensively with different telematic systems previously, and has defined its technical requirements. "We want to exploit all possible technological opportunities through a telematic solution", says Karim Gebara, Managing Director Würfel Holding GmbH. Their requirements include order management and tracking, surveillance of driving and rest times, remote reading of digital tachograph data and evaluation of the driving style.
During a one-year testing period Vehco provides hardware and operates the complete telematic solution. Moreover users will receive support in the form of an introduction and with reaching pilot targets.
Würfel Holding headquartered in Bremerhaven is a full service provider in the segment of transport and logistics. Established in 1946 the medium-sized enterprise specialises in transportations with jumbo swap bodies and refrigerated transport. In addition Würfel offers customised logistics systems, ranging from simple shipments handling to complex, automated logistics solutions. In total the Würfel Holding has more than 1,000 emplyoees. The group operates 13 locations in Germany and operates daily more than 400 vehicles; most of them are company-owned.
